Course Duration

It takes around 4 years to complete the ca program/ be qualified as a Chartered Accountant. The entry-level foundation course involves the quantitative aptitude test, general economics, mercantile laws and accounting. CA entry requirements for the foundation level test conducted by the ICAI are students who have Appeared their 12th grade exam, not necessary to have studied in commerce stream. The foundation course coaching takes around 5 months. the students can register for foundation even after passing their 10th std Exam. The intermediate course has two groups. It is specially designed to improve the knowledge of accounting standards. Duration for the intermediate course coaching comes up to 7 months.

After passing the Intermediate, the students have to undergone the on-job training period of 2 years called “articleship” with a  Chartered Accountant firm, are eligible to attend CA final exams.

As a CA, you can work in government or public service undertakings as well as the private sector companies. You can work as a finance adviser, managers of finance & also as financial controllers of the particular companies. They can deal with the matters such as taxation, investigation, audit & consulting with the company. A chartered Accountant professional has huge possibility in gaining high profile CA jobs in Kerala and anywhere in India.

The average salary for a CA profile who is fresher will be around 9-15 Lakhs per annum. A chartered accountant commands the respect in the society and organization where CA’s salary also increases upon one’s skill set and experience.

Course Structure

CA Course

CA Foundation Course

It is an entry level exam for CA .
Students can join even after passing their 10th standard exam.
Minimum study period is 4 months.
Students can Appear in Foundation Examination after appearing in Class XII Examination.
Exam will be conducted twice in a year.
Non-commerce students (Science, Humanities etc.) can also join for the Foundation course.
Commerce graduates with 55% and other graduates with 60% marks are exempted from CA Foundation

CA Intermediate – Foundation Route

Also referred to as CA Inter is the second level of examination for students pursuing chartered accountancy.
Students who have passed CA Foundation can register for CA Intermediate.
The exams are conducted twice a year (May, November). Students have to complete an 8 months study period in order to appear for the examination.
After passing both groups of Intermediate and completing ICITSS, students can join for their practical training FOR 2 years.(earlier the duration was 3 years).

CA Intermediate – Direct Entry Route

Commerce Graduates/Post-Graduates (with minimum 55% marks) or Other Graduates/ Post-Graduates (with minimum 60% marks) and Intermediate level passed candidates of Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India. After passing both groups of Intermediate, students can join for their practical training.

Students undergoing Final Year Graduation or Post-Graduation shall be eligible for provisional registration for Intermediate.

CA Final Course

This is the final level of CA Course. Students can register for the Final Course after qualifying both Groups of Intermediate Examination and completing ICITSS (Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills). Students who have completed practical training, qualifying Self- paced online modules and Advanced ICITSS are eligible to appear for CA Final Exam.

Who all can apply for CA-foundation/Intermediate/Final?
• For CA Foundation → Students who have appeared for class XII examinations are eligible . • for CA-Intermediate→ Students qualified Foundation exam OR commerce Graduates/Post Graduates (with minimum 55% marks) OR other graduates/Post Graduates (with minimum 60% marks) OR Intermediate level passed candidates of ICSI and ICWAI are eligible. • for CA-Final→ Students qualified Both groups of Intermediate courses are eligible
What are the eligibility conditions for direct entry to CA Intermediate course?
• Commerce (Graduates/Post Graduates) with minimum 55% marks or any other stream (Graduates/Post Graduates) with minimum 60% marks. • Intermediate level passed candidates of ICSI and ICWAI are eligible for direct entry to CA Intermediate.
How long does it take to complete each section of CA?

CA Foundation : 6 months class and minimum one month study leave. CA Intermediate : 9 months class and minimum 50 days study leave. CA Final :18 months class.

Is Hostel facility available at Rank Centre for CA?

Yes. Separate hostels are there for boys and girls.

Is Weekend classes are there to pursue CA?

There is only regular classes for CA Intermediate and no weekend classes. As far as concerned weekend classes may not be sufficient for effective preparation of exam.

Is any crash courses are available for CA?

What are the procedures to enroll into CA?

How many attempts could a student have for each course?

6 attempts; students has to re-validate their registration after 6 attempts (ie, 3 years).
